WHAT IS ORGANIC FOOD?
Organic farming in general, features practices that strive to cycle resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve Biodiversity.  Organizations regulating organic products may restrict the use of certain syntetic pesticides and fertilizers in farming. In general, organic foods are also usually not processed using irridation, industrial solvents or synthetic food additives.
The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. While the regulations vary from country to country, in the U.S., organic crops must be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes (GMOs), petroleum-based fertilizers, and sewage sludge-based fertilizers.
